Robert Macneil's Urban exploration photography – Wastelands

Another week and to set everyone off in the best possible way we’re bringing you another awesome photo series. This is Wastelands by the hugely talented Robert MacNeil and we’ll let him tell you all about it.

“Every major city around the world has one, a wasteland of old and abandoned buildings that dot the landscape. The question is do we bulldoze them down for something new, bright and shiny or do we save them to remind us of our past and what it took to build the lives we have now. I see these old buildings as a time capsule to our past, the rusty steel, the old bridges and the history. I wanted to capture our wastelands before they are gone. One must never forget the past, embrace it and celebrate it. There is something so beautiful in rusty steel, like scars. When I look at people who don’t have scars, in my mind they haven’t lived. Leave the scars, embrace your life and celebrate it.”
